Crazy about jeans?

Crazy about jeans? Yup, that probably sums up my fetish/addiction over denims...I have bought 3 pairs in less than 3 months! Gosh. Well, i just can't help it. Its like how some people can walk into a shoe boutique and buy shoes of the same design, in 10 different colours! But of course, i am not alone in this case, Denimology, a site set up in 2006 by Andy K, has the latest updates on many jeans, different denim brands, and the hottest denim fashion in town. Worth a bookmark!

My all-time favourites got to be GStar Raw and Nudie Jeans. Both brands have some very sleek designs and come in many different washes, not forgetting about the fit (which is extremely important in this case).

GStar Raw

The GStar Raw webpage showcases the new Spring/Summer 07 collection in an online catalogue, and also includes a video clip of their fashion show in New York. Collaborations by sports brands, street wear brands, and chic designers, with jeans companies is very common these days. Some examples include, Levis-Stussy, Puma-Evisu, etc. GStar also teamed up with designer Marc Newson to come up with a line called GStar by Marc Newson. Art pieces, i call them.

Nudie Jeans

Six years ago Maria Erixon Levin moved home from her top job as Director of Design at Lee in Brussels to start her own. That was the beginning of the fairy tale Nudie, that has grown into a million dollar industry. It is not until recently that they open their own store (in Stockholm). "Buyers and retailers choose what they want to sell. By having our own store we will be able to show the whole collection and establish a relationship with the customer at our own pace. The interior of our store will more look like you are at the pub than in a store. We think that environment is more jeans friendly, says Maria."

One, the Nudie Jeans Washguide, teaches owners how to wash their Nudies, in a very cute clay-made video (Tip 1: Wear your Nudies for at least 4 months before washing to get the best fit that you desire.) Two, The Fine Art of Denim, shows how eachand every Nudie jeans is made in the factory, step-by-step. (Interesting fact: They are all made in Italy!)
